What we do

K2 Ambientis transforms sewage and solid waste into final value-added products through the integration of clean and sustainable technologies.

We apply a set of technologies that changes the model of how the world sees and deals with passive liquid and solid waste.

The 3R - recycle, reduce and reuse - are applied to the treatment of wastewater and by extension to on-site sanitation, in which the methane gas and sludge can be used in a sustainable way; for energy generation and soil improvers.

K2 structures the projects according to the specific waste and space challenges, applying the scalable modular wastewater regeneration technology, the hydrothermal liquefaction system for the bioconversion of biosolids, (Hydrothermal Liquefaction or HTL for its acronym in English), and the portable water purification in custom designed configurations.

Why do we do it

Resource Scarcity

More than 733 million people live in countries with high and critical levels of water stress. (United Nations data 2019).

At least 3 billion people have no knowledge about the quality of the water they depend on due to a lack of monitoring.

We believe small actions and creating consciousness can achieve big impacts.

K2 offers portable technology, without civil works, processes without chemicals, without volume limits, with low operating costs.

Environmental and Human Contamination

80% of global wastewater streams are discharged, UNTREATED, into rivers, lakes and oceans. (World Economic Forum data)

We believe in contributing to a better world for all through our activities.

Our circular economy technology integration approach to waste transforms wastewater for infinite reuse in any industry or community, eliminating the need to apply chemicals.

Solid Waste Disposal

We believe that waste has value, and we can change the way the world looks at waste.

We transform environmentally harmful organic solid waste that contaminates soils, water tables, waterways and air, and convert the massive quantities of methane gas released into atmosphere.

Basic Human Rights - Access to Potable Water & Sanitation

We believe it is a fundamental human right to have access to clean, potable water and basic sanitation.

K2 Ambientis´ system provides a clear path to achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. Our systems safely manage sanitation and potable drinking water.

Benefits to you

Cost reduction

Less chemicals, less downtime, less environmental remediation.

Circular Economy

Instead of taking resources from the earth, using them, throwing them away and harming the environment, we apply a different approach: transform waste and pollution reducing the need for new inputs of resources, recirculating and reusing transformed and regenerated resources and products, and recycling waste into renewable energy production. All of this ultimately improves sustainability.

Carbon sequestration

Microalgae sequester 2 tonnes of CO2 to produce every tonne of algae biomass.

Solutions that provide you with the possibility to generate carbon credits to mitigate your environmental impact, report on your sustainability initiatives as well as opening new commercial opportunities for third parties to purchase these carbon credits on international markets, representing a commercial opportunity as well as social and environmental brand recognition.

Environmentally and socially friendly solutions

No chemicals, reduced environmental footprint (less civil works), reduced emissions, return on community. Contribute to ensure the availability, accessibility and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation for all.

Our services

Complete Project Lifecycle Management

We analyze the problem, design the solution, structure the business model, implement, and operate the technology.

Integration

Complementary clean technologies are applied in a closed loop system whereby waste is transformed into energy and value-added end products, offering a complete solution for multiple problems.

New Revenue Streams

By-products of these processes include liquid organic fertilizer, clean water, chlorella, a food protein supplement for animals and humans, the raw materials for biofuel production and the transformation of waste into renewable energy.

Path to Net Zero

We incorporate advice on sustainability strategies and programs, emissions reduction and structuring of carbon credits, community integration, and corporate social responsibility.
